It is a proven fact that any power exercise will have a tremendous impact in a persons golf swing and golf game in general. In fact any strength exercise will have an impact on the golf game.
However golf specific power exercises will tend to have an even larger impact in your golf swing. To start with they will tend to be less strenuous and more concentrated on the specific muscles that you use during the golf game.
What is more many golf specific power exercises specifically targeted at making a major improvement in your golf swing can be performed in the comfort of the home, office or even while travelling, maybe in some hotel room somewhere.
The power exercise in the golf swing that can also tremendously improve on the enjoyment of the game by eliminating pain even as your body is strengthened to play a better game.
For example the following powerful, but simple exercise has helped many golfers gain more endurance to play golf the whole day with endurance and get rid of the usual nagging lower back problems that are extremely common on the course.
This power exercise in the golf swing also makes such a tremendous difference in your strength that you have to try it to believe and experience the impact yourself.
This power exercise in the golf swing is done by lying flat on the ground on your stomach with your hands at your sides. You then raise your chest and upper body as well as arms and legs as high as you can.
You do this so that your stomach supports the weight of your entire body. Hold the position and go for a count of 10. Doing this simple exercise for 2 sets daily will completely eliminate your low back pain for good. That is if it has been caused by golf.
There are a number of other power exercises in the golf swing that can make a tremendous impact on any golf game.

Taking A Golf Lesson Isn’t Always The Answer

Golfers will do anything they can in hopes to play better golf and hit the LONG ball. Am I right? Are you in this category? If so, I’m quite confident to say you have taken a golf lesson or two. Golf lessons can be very effective in getting you back on track, if your swing has gone south. But, not always.
How many times have you taken a golf lesson, only to be more frustrated and hitting the ball worse than before that golf lesson? Do you know why this happens? It can be many different reasons, such as too many swing thoughts; making drastic changes that require hours at the range and hitting thousands of balls; or lastly, your body just cant effectively move in the way it needs to, to make a mechanically correct golf swing.
I’m inclined to say that for the majority of golfers, especially the older golfer, its the last reason above. Your body just cant move the way it needs to. The question now is, why?
Why can’t your body do what you know it needs to do to swing the club correctly? It can drive you to the point of quitting the game. But there is hope. There is an approach that will almost 100% of the time correct this problem. Do you want to know what it is? Its addressing your physical limitations. That’s what’s keeping you from a great game of golf.
Do you ever get on the course and just feel like you cant make a full backswing? Or, it just feels impossible to maintain your golf posture and stay in your swing? No amount of golf lessons or hitting balls will correct this. This is a physical issue with your body, and until you work on it, it will never get better. I have seen it time and time again. Golfers walking off the course in pure disgust. They have taken golf lessons, hit balls at the range, and even bought the latest, greatest titanium drive; and yet still cant play like they think they are capable of.
Finding out your physical limitations is the first step to a lifelong better game of golf. Once you find out what’s keeping you from making that perfect swing, you can set up a game plan to improve it. It may be a flexibility issue, or it may be a strength issue. But either way, you have got to find out what it is.
The most common issue (especially for the older golfer) is flexibility. Not being able to rotate your body fully on the backswing, creating that power and torque for maximum club head speed. If your back swing is cut short, you will LOSE yards on your drives! And I say again; no amount of lessons or hitting balls will make that any better. Youve got to do specific golf stretches to improve this limitation.
Now on the other side of these limiting factors is strength, specific to golf. And one of the most common limitations is weak hamstrings (the back of the upper leg). The role of the hamstring is critical. It allows you to maintain your golf posture throughout the swing and for 18 holes. It prevents undo strain on your lower back. And can give you a steady, comfortable position while putting.
If your hamstrings are weak, I can almost say with certainty, you have got some low-back pain or injury. This is prevalent in older golfers and even the younger ones too. Back pain is the number reason to keep a golfer from playing his/her best. Have you ever walked off the course with your back in pain? I’m sure at one time or another you have. Now do you think hitting more balls or taking more lessons will improve this? I think you know the answer.
If you have a difficult time, staying in your swing, it most definitely could be the above scenario. In order to maintain the forward flex in your upper body (golf posture), your hamstrings need to have optimal strength (and flexibility). If not, your hamstring will send a message to your brain saying, get out of this position, I cant hold it any longer. Do you think his has ever happened to you?
So working on the physical side of your game improvement may be the missing link. I can assuredly tell you with this approach, your game WILL improve. There is no doubt. Getting your body to move just a little better will make a huge difference in your ability to make an optimal swing for 18 holes. So before you take that next golf lesson, take a look at your BODY first!

Understanding The Rotary Nature of The Golf Swing
May 27, 2009 by admin
Filed under Golf - Training Tips
The golf swing is really a rotary movement in nature. Actually part of the real secret behind the perfect golf swing has to do with a golfer understanding the rotary motions in the golf swing and being able to perfect and master them.
This is of course easier said than done. In the past many golfers have had to struggle for decades trying to get their golf swing right with poor results at best. Most hardly ever achieved a good consistent golf swing, let alone getting to understand the key rotary movements in the golf swing motion.
However in recent years a short-cut of sorts has emerged where golf specific exercises which include both strength building and stretch exercises have worked miracles in helping numerous golfers of all ages to dramatically improve on their golf swing. Many have done so by getting the rotary motions in the golf swing right and mastering them to a large extent.
The perfect rotary golf swing really involves limiting the amount of horizontal and vertical body movements so that the entire rotary golf swing movement involves swinging your entire body around your spine.
Obviously the more physically fit, or golf fit a golfer is, the easier it will be to achieve this rotary golf swing.
You can imagine how unnatural the rotary golf swing movement is and indeed how dangerous it can be to a body and muscles that have not been prepared or exercised and conditioned for it.
Little wonder that golf injuries are so common these days. The results are a joy to watch and also a great joy for the player who ends up thoroughly enjoying their game.
This is because shots will fly further and yet the golfer will be in more control over the direction that they are headed. Exercise makes the rotary golf swing much easier to achieve.

Golf Secrets To Dramatically Improve Your Game
Every amateur golfer is constantly looking for golf secrets to dramatically improve their game. Yet they are not very easy to come by. The competitiveness of the game will not allow the professionals to easily share all their valuable secrets.
Since the golf game is all about making the correct golf swing, a golf secret related to the swing would be considered pretty valuable. This article carries two valuable secrets related to the golf swing.
Firstly, the following simple realization can go a long way in improving your golf game. It is the simple fact that a golf drive is a very unnatural movement for the body. Because of this, the body naturally resists every effort we try to make towards perfecting our golf swing. Realizing this and taking steps to condition the body so that swinging a golf club becomes as natural a movement for the body as possible, is a golf secret that will improve any game in leaps and bounds.
Conditioning of the body will involve exercises designed to strengthen your key golf muscles.
The second golf secret I will share in this article has to do with stretch exercises.
For a better golf game, stretching before the game should be part of your warm-up. Carefully warming up before the stretch exercises so that your core body temperature is raised will help you avoid injury which is common with people who are careless about warming up or totally ignore it altogether.
Warming up does not have to be an elaborate thing. You can for example walk very fast from your car to the practice range.
The shoulder joint is the first you should stretch with movements like arm circles and arm crosses. The hamstrings and lower back are also very important areas of the body for a golfer. You should slowly ease into toe touches starting off with slightly bent knees and slowly straightening them.
Another important golf secret you should note is that stretching exercises should be repeated again after the golf session ends. Spending a few minutes stretching your muscles which you will have just put through a lot of stress will be a great help. This will prevent a lot of soreness and tightness of muscles.
These are valuable golf secrets that will transform your game.

Advice On Golf Training Aid Products

There are many different types of golf swing faults and a golf training aid can go a long way in helping any golfer deal with their specific problem area.
The golf swing is the essence of the golf game and therefore it would not be a bad idea to get even two golf training aids that are specific to your swing fault.
A golf training aid that I have found to be very effective is the weighted club. This is a very golf-specific golf training aid as you go through the exact same motions you do with an ordinary club but with more weight. This greatly helps in strengthening and conditioning all the relevant muscles.
The inside approach is another great golf training aid to help improve any golf swing. This particular device is extremely useful for slicers and helps deal with this problem fairly quickly.
As golf training aids, exercise tubing are very affordable and yet very effective. The strength of this device is in its ability to break down the golf swing into as many different phases as you would like to focus on for the sake of improvements. It offers specific resistance training for each phase.
A stability ball is a golf training aid than any golfer with a bad back should have. There are almost countless different stretch exercises that you can with it. And what makes this golf training aid even more attractive is the fact that you can do your exercises in the office or at home when you have a moment.
A simple p[air of dumbbells can be a golf training aid that is very useful to any golfer. They are usually very portable and there are many exercises that can be done with hand weights.
Use of golf training aids all boils down to the golfer knowing exactly what they are doing when using them.

How To Select A Unique Golf Gift
To select a truly unique golf gift for somebody, it will help a great deal if you know their golf game intimately.
There are numerous golf products in the market these days and many of them have been promoted very cleverly and aggressively in the market. The result is that many golfers will show you garages that are full of products that did not work for them. Sadly these products have hardly improved their games. In some cases some aspects of their golf game even get worse.
To select a unique golf gift that will help the recipient and end up being the sort of unique golf gift that they never forget, you may need some help from a golf conditioning and exercise expert.
In selecting your unique golf gift, you will need to be very specific about the particular area of the persons game that needs to be improved.
The golf swing alone has at least three different segments that each need to be developed separately to impact on the quality of the persons game. The three segments are the backswing, the downswing and finally the impact and follow-through. To get a unique golf gift for a person, you will need to focus on the particular segment where they are weakest. Only then can you concentrate your efforts on finding the golf improvement product or equipment that will work best in developing and correcting that particular weakness.
Getting the unique golf gift may not be enough and you may need some expert advice on how to best use the equipment to correct the particular weakness in the game that you have focused on. For example hand weights should not be lifted to build muscle, which will usually involve heavier weights being lifted fewer times and for a longer period. This is in sharp contrast to using weights to increase strength which will usually involve lighter weights being lifted more times and the exercise should take only a few minutes every day.
If you focus on the correct golf weakness and get the right product with the right expert advice, then chances are very high that it will end up being the unique golf gift that will not be quickly forgotten.

If you have watched any golf on the television you have no doubt heard the commentators mention golf fitness training. Its no secret that 95 percent of professional golfers are doing some for of golf fitness training.
If there livelihood depends on their performance and they are participating in golf fitness training, why would not amateur golfers do the same?
The golf swing is one of the most physically demanding movements on the human body of all sports.
Swinging a three and a half foot long implement at upwards of 100 mph, while maintaining balance, stabilization and proper swing mechanics is very difficult.
I dont think I have to convince you of that do I?
The only way to be able to accomplish this is by improving the strength AND flexibility of your golf muscles.
What’s the simplest way to do this?
I can tell you not on a machine in your local gym.
Just take a look at the golf swing to realize its on your feet and bent at the waist. How could sitting in a machine help that?
It can’t!
You have got to do as many exercises as possible on your feet, involving balance, coordination, strength and flexibility.
You dont even have to be a golf fitness specialist to come up with some creative exercises on your own.
How about making your golf swing while holding a single hand weight? You cant get anymore golf-specific than that.
What about some exercise tubing (that’s inexpensive) attached to your door and make your golf swing? Another very golf-specific exercise.
You dont need a gym membership to do any of these and many more golf exercises. Convenience of doing these exercises in your home saves time and money.
There is a lot of information (including books) showing golfers on machines in gyms. Thats not golf-specific, that’s general fitness.
If you want to improve your game quickly and easily, try doing these in-home golf exercises. You wont believe how quickly your body will respond and how you’ll be the LONGEST hitter in your foursome in no-time.

Golf Stretching Secrets to Improve Performance

The trend in larger and therefore heavier club heads in recent years has made golf stretching secrets even more important to acquire.
To make matters worse for golfers not interested in embracing golf stretching secrets, golf is a game unlike other sports where continuous playing improves fitness and endurance. This is because the golf swing lasts only a second.
It is instructive that many golfers are yet to appreciate this rather important fact. This is the reason who they have found it very difficult to see any improvement in their game.
Still it is common to see golfers practice hitting the ball for hours on the course. The writing should really be on the wall by now. And that is it is unlikely to improve any golfers game if their body is not golf fit.
Muscles that are not fit will usually be flabby and stiff, making a good golf game virtually impossible because a golfer will tire easily and using the correct golf swing will be virtually impossible.
Learning golf stretching secrets should enable a golfer to do the right stretch exercises that will dramatically improve on their flexibility of the body and thus impact positively on their golf swing and all aspects of the game.
Golf stretching secrets include the fact that stretch exercises are critical in taking care of every golfers most important and critical piece of equipment.
And that is the body. The right stretch exercises will help the body cope with the golf game which is a physically demanding sport. It requires strength, endurance and muscular control to hit a golf ball at high speed and in the right direction, consistently on a golf course.
Learning the secrets of golf stretching will also allow a golfer to do the right warm up exercises even before they go onto serious stretching routines.
All this preparation means that the body will be ready to perform at its best and the results will clearly show the true value of golf stretching secrets.

Online Golf Program Features and Benefits
There are many features and benefits to look for when it comes to choosing an online golf program over a personal golf trainer who charges by the hour or lesson. In this article, I will focus on the most important benefits. I will be discussing what you should be looking for when choosing an online golf program and the many benefits of working with an online golf trainer.
What to look for in an online golf program
You should try to find a program that is comprehensive in nature. The golf program should be able to effectively teach you how to improve your golfing techniques, mechanics and consistency of your game. To be able to consistently hit the ball properly every time! But, it is not enough just to join a program that only focuses on golf. To be the best golfer that you can possibly be, you need to perform the proper exercises and follow proper nutrition as well. Golf specific exercises will allow you to improve your golf swing and hitting distance. Exercising will also improve your flexibility, prevent injuries, make you feel healthier and increase your strength. By strength we mean not muscle mass but power because if you get too bulky, it will hinder your swing.
Convenience
An online golf program allows you to access the program any time you want, no matter where you are. You may be at your office or job and looking for a break to take your mind off work. Or you may be travelling and have some free time in your hotel. In all these situations, you could easily access the online golf program and continue from where you last left the site. Compared to a personal golf trainer with whom you have to be on the course at a specific time. What if a meeting suddenly comes up? Well you have to cancel. With online golf programs, you dictate when you want to learn or improve your golf game and not the other way around.
Online golf program versus personal golf trainer
Paying a golf trainer can get very expensive and you may not be able to remember everything they said during the lesson. Online golf programs are extremely inexpensive and offer many more additional benefits. Information on a particular topic can be accessed whenever you wish. Information can be viewed in written form as well as diagrams. Most importantly it should also have online video demonstrations. With online videos you can get a better visual representation of particular golf swings or exercises for golfers. You could even go through the motions along with the specific videos. Sort of like having a live golf trainer whenever you want, wherever you may be.
The golf program should be able to allow you to contact them via email or other form of online communication when you need help or have a specific question.
One of the many added benefits of online programs is that software is often provided free of charge such as game tracking software.
Nutrition and health
To be the best golfer you can be, you must be healthy so it is important that the program be able to provide nutritional or weight loss advice and proper golf exercises to prevent injuries from occurring.
Online Community
Interactivity with other golfers, be they amateurs or professionals, is an important aspect for learning on the Internet. To improve your golfing game or just make new friends, you may wish to be in contact with other golfers. Look for a program with a discussion forum or any form of online golfing community.
Conclusion
Joining a quality online golf program is like having 24/7 access to a golf fitness trainer, golf psychologist, sports medicine expert and golf nutrition expert. This article discusses just some of the key points that I feel are important when looking for golfing instruction. I emphasized that the program you join should be comprehensive incorporating golf specific instruction as well as golf specific exercises and nutritional advice. One program I feel that fits all this criteria is the Golf Trainer’s online golf program which can be found here: http://www.golf-trainer.com/ because Mike Pederson’s golf program is comprehensive and covers every facet of the game. He has been a certified fitness professional for over 20 years and has worked with golfers exclusively for the past 9 years.

What Are the Best Exercises for the Golfer?
With all the talk about the players o tour getting stronger and more flexible, we hear a lot about exercising for golf from television commentators and read about it in the golf publications. But what exactly are the best exercises for the amateur golfer?
A great question that has a good answer, but before we give you the answer let us provide some background so the answer makes a little more sense to you. First of all, discussing the golf swing for the time being will get us rolling.
What exactly is the golf swing? The golf swing is an athletic movement that requires using of the entire body from feet to fingertips in order to complete the swing. Realize that the golf swing is not about the club, not just about your grip, or where your head is during the swing. The golf swing is a movement that requires your entire body to move through a sequence of movements with the correct timing. To perform the athletic movement of the golf swing requires the body to begin at address, move through the actual phases of the golf swing and complete it with the follow through. In order to perform this activity with efficiency and repetitively, the body must have certain physical parameters.
These parameters, as I call them, are actual physical categories of the body that need to be developed to a certain level. These categories of the body are the platform from which the body is able to perform the athletic movement of a golf swing efficiently. The categories are probably familiar to many of you, but for the purpose of this article let us briefly run through them.
The body is required to have certain levels of flexibility, balance, endurance, strength, and power to complete a golf swing. If the body lacks in any of the above categories, then the results will be seen in the golf swing. The results are usually in the form of poor mechanics, bad shots, or poor scores on the course. So, now that we know what the connection is between the body and the swing let us address the question about the best exercises for golf.
The Best Exercises for Golf
Lets say you walk into your local health club and see all the fancy machines and aerobic machines at the facility to get you shape. What ones would choose? Would you choose running on the treadmill for 30 minutes, or would it be better to push out a couple sets of bench presses? Well, the answer to our question really lies within the connection between your swing and your body.
I will tell you that exercises meant to pump you up! or give you that six pack are not necessarily the correct exercises for your golf game. Neither is that weight training program you used back in high school. So, with those thoughts in mind what do you think the best exercises for golf are?
Right now we know, in general terms about the golf swing, what is required of the body for the golf swing and what exercises are not good for the swing. Armed with that knowledge we can decipher what the best exercises for golf are for you.
Beginning with flexibility, we know that the entire body must move through certain ranges of motion to perform an effective golf swing. And what happens if your body is not able to move through the required ranges of motion of the golf swing? The answer: the golf swing will mechanically suffer resulting in shots that are less than optimal. So part of the exercises that are good for golfers are flexibility exercises and, even more so, flexibility exercises that work the muscles used in the golf swing through the movements involved in the golf swing. So first and foremost flexibility exercises should be on the top of your list.
The second category of exercises that would be conducive to the golf swing would have to do with balance. We hear about balance in reference to the golf swing all the time. Stay balanced through the swing; transfer your weight to maintain balance during the swing But what does balance exactly mean? Balance is the ability to control your body through a specific movement pattern. The movement pattern we are discussing just happens to be the golf swing. We know the importance of balance in relation to the golf swing, so how do we train our body for better balance in the golf swing? Before we answer that question we need to know a little more about balance. Balance in relation to the body has to do with the connection between your nerves and muscles. Essentially your nervous system, as a result of messages sent from your brain, tells your muscles how to move to maintain the bodys balance. The more efficient your nerves and muscles are to these messages the greater balance abilities the body develops. So balance exercises train both the nervous system and muscular system to become more efficient at this function. Summing it all up, balance is the second category of exercises that will assist your golf game.
The third category of exercises that are beneficial to golf have to do with your muscles. The golf swing requires the muscles of your body to move through a specific range of motion (flexibility) and help with your balance capacities. In order to perform these actions and others, your body needs certain levels of strength and endurance. The definition of strength is the ability of the muscles to exert force for the given athletic action (simplified definition but a good working definition for us). Endurance is the ability of your muscles to do the same activity over and over again for a specific amount of time.
First off, let us discuss strength. The golf swing has one intention of developing club head speed while maintaining balance through the swing. The muscles in your body must have enough strength in them to do both. Now, when we discuss building strength for the golf swing it is NOT the type of strength needed to bench press 250 lbs. Or squat 500! It is strength geared towards the improvement of your swing. I refer to this type of strength as golf strength. So when you get to the gym, performing strength exercises like bench press will not help your swing. Exercises that train the body in the positions and through the movements of the golf swing will help your swing.
In addition to strength, we need to develop endurance in your muscles. Think of how many swings you may take over the course of 18 holes. In order for you to be able to swing the club the same way on the 18th hole as you did on the 1st hole. Your body has to have high levels of endurance. This will allow your body to perform the golf swing without getting tired. You develop endurance similar to how you develop golf strength. Utilize exercises that train the body in the positions and through the movements of the golf swing. Lighter loads with higher repetitions will be used for these exercises. The end result will be the development of golf endurance.
The final segment of exercises beneficial to your golf swing is power training. Power training is geared towards the ability of your body to generate high levels of club head speed. Power development by the body is what allows for greater distance on your shots. Clubs help, golf balls help, but it really comes down to the piece of machinery, your body, swinging those club and hitting those golf balls. Development of power for the golf swing is very similar to the development of golf strength and endurance. It is the utilization of exercises that place your body in the positions and move you through movements similar to the golf swing.
Summary
So there you have it, the answer to the types of exercises best for the improvement of your golf swing. I think you now realize it is not one exercise, but a group of exercises that incorporate flexibility, balance, endurance, strength, and power. A combination of these exercises is what will enhance your golf swing. Looking for specific exercises? Take a look at our website http://www.bioforcegolf.com
